One of the essential skills for a UX designer is empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand the perspective and motives of other people. UX Designer doesn’t even need to like people. What is important is to step outside of your bubble and see the world through other people’s points of view. Empathy maps, personas, surveys, interviews are tools that effort to support to build empathy. But people still need to use this information and figure out what product they should build.
