Before you start working on your design, you need to figure out who is your final user. If you design for the existing website, it is good to start with usability testing. You don’t need to wait until the end of a project. Usability testing is an excellent way to start a project. There are seven steps to understand your audience better.

  1. List your primary audience.
  2. Gather information about your audience.
  3. List major characteristics for each audience.
  4. Gather your audiences’ questions, tasks, and stories.
  5. Use your information to create personas.
  6. Include the persona’s goal and tasks.
  7. Use your data to write scenarios for your site.
